Staten Island Trackless Trolley
A 1921 Atlas trackless trolley on Staten Island. Staten Island's trackless trolley system - today's S64 and S74 bus routes - ran from October 8, 1921 to October 16, 1927. It is considered the first successful commerical trackless trolley operation in the United States. Photographer unknown; collection of Joe Testagrose.
