CUMTD 1010 (ex-GPMTD 1010)

CUMTD #1010 ran in Peoria colors and number for several years and was later renumbered 4517 (love model and fleet number being the same). Photograph taken in September, 1971 by A.J. Reinschmidt.

#1010 is one of the 4517s purchased from the Peoria Mass Transit District. When received, some were painted in PMTD orange and some were still in NCL green, several had to be towed to Chamapign. Being in operational condition #1010 and several others were pressed into service prior to repainting and renumbering. They appeared on both the ILLIBUS and Orange Line routes. Several continued to carry their Peoria numbers for several months after repainting. A repainted 4517 is shown in the background.
