MTA 9404801 viewsMaryland MTA #9404 taking a layover while working route 5 at Mondawmin Station.
The 9400s were a 1994 order but didn't arrive until 1995. 9401-9430 were powered by Cummins M-11 engines and 9431-35 had Detroit Series 60s, a departure from the standard 6V-92 engines equipped on most Flxible Metros ordered by MTA up to that time. They were held in high regard by operators, patrons, and fans alike for their power and performance. They were retired in 2010. Photograph taken September 2, 2008 by Gary Calicchia.Nov 24, 2011
