220 viewsA SCE&G(South Carolina Electric & Gas) GMC New Look (early 1970s model) resting on a scorching hot Monday afternoon [Labor Day] in Columbia, SC. Photo taken September 1, 1998 by Mike Gallant.
215 viewsBack shot of one of many GMC New Looks operating for SCE&G in Columbia, SC. Chattanooga. Photograph taken in September, 1998 by Mike Gallant.
303 viewsAn early 1970s 35ft/96"-wide GMC New Look bus at the South Carolina Electric & Gas garage in Columbia, SC. SCE&G is one of the last utility companies owning a bus system in the United States. But more importantly, SCE&G is too "cheap" to update their fleet so Columbia residents get to see 25-30 year old buses on their city streets. Photograph taken by Mike Gallant.
320 viewsThe tailends of two GMC New Looks for SCE&G(South Carolina Electric & Gas) in Columbia, SC. If I'm not mistaken, the middle bus is a 1968 GMC- as revealed by the '68 style tail lights. Take notice of the unpainted RTS bus. Most of the newer SCE&G vehicles in the fleet [RTS and Gillig equipment] has no paint schemes (stripes/markings)- just plain white buses.
Scenic Tours #390 viewsOn tour in Durango
GMC Motorcoach155 viewsThis has been a longtime idea of mine, basically an RTS on steroids. It would use the same windshield glass and takes some of the components from the RTS -03 and 04. This also uses a twin screw tandem axle reminicent of the Scenicruiser rather than the conventional tag axle.
GMC PD4501 Super Scenicruiser115 views
PD4501 Scenicruiser119 viewsI spotted this sitting in the local Walmart parking lot. You can still see where "GREYHOUND" was painted on the nose.
PD4501 Scenicruiser 2115 viewsFront 3/4 view. In 2007, it had Ohio plates.
PD4501 Scenicruiser side116 viewsRight side view. Growing up in New England, we called these "Humpbacks".
PD4501 Scenicruiser rear107 viewsBack side. I'm sure someone knows where this beauty is today.
