B&O 80429 viewsThis photo shows Baltimore & Ohio bus #80 parked in front of their Rockefeller Center terminal on 49th St. The terminal is partially visible to the left of the bus. These buses, manufactured by White Motors were a special edition (model #1136) that were built just for the B & O, although other carriers could purchase them as well if they so desired. Among the special features that these buses had were the one piece windshield and the special Baltimore & Ohio raised lettering above the windows that was

'Great Light Rail!'367 viewsI know - this is a new one on me too!!
A 'New Look' GM 5300 series rigged to ride the rails!
Notice how trucks are parked similarly to landing gear.
This bus was probably used to move railroad personnel from one site to the next.

Green Bus Lines, Jamaica, NY409 viewsThese pictures, from a GM Diesel ad, were taken at Green Bus Lines Rockaway Boulevard facility sometime shortly after it was built.
Despite the overwhelming number of GM models featured in the lower frame, you will also note a line of 39/40 model 'CM' Macks to the left.

CARTA 928372 viewsTailend of a retired 35-ft 1973 GMC T6H4523A CARTA bus in Chattanooga, TN. Looks can be deceiving- this bus appears to be in fine shape but the entire front end had been completely cannibalized by CARTA (used for parts). Photo taken by Mike Gallant in May, 1998.

291 viewsI briefly visited Montgomery, Alabama to check out the Montgomery Area Transit System (MATS) and was suprised to see that this bus fleet is entirely 1974 and 1976 (counted 38 buses) GMC Fishbowl buses. This is the OLDEST bus fleet in the United States. All of the GMC buses have been retrofitted with wheelchair lifts (same retrofit as CARTA GMC buses in Chattanooga, TN) so they don't get hassled by the FTA. Believe it or not- MATS only runs Mon-Fri at rush hours! No midday or weekend service at all. But the good thing is that these buses look like they're in excellent condition. This makes sense since most are probably not used at all

412 viewsRetired GMC New Look at MTC South Garage in April, 1999. Photograph taken by Mike Gallant.

During a trip to Minneapolis in April '99, I found this non-operational 1967 GMC New Look bus sitting on a deserted lot at the MTC South Garage near the airport. The MTC had purchased a bunch of GMC New Looks in the 1960s but did not continue with General Motors for future bus orders. Instead, the company ordered Flxible New Looks in the 1970s. Sidenote: All Flxible New Looks arrived with the same all-red paint scheme, similar to this GMC coach....blech!!

282 viewsHere is an ex-Phoenix Transit T6H45211968 35 footer recently purchased by a GMC fishbowl fan. The bus is red because it's previous owner was the Hammond (IN) Fire Dept. (photo donated by owner Roger Ockomon)

270 viewsThe tailends of two GMC New Looks for SCE&G(South Carolina Electric & Gas) in Columbia, SC. If I'm not mistaken, the middle bus is a 1968 GMC- as revealed by the '68 style tail lights. Take notice of the unpainted RTS bus. Most of the newer SCE&G vehicles in the fleet [RTS and Gillig equipment] has no paint schemes (stripes/markings)- just plain white buses.
