NFTA 6108280 viewsThis was the last appearance of the 6000-series RTS buses. In 1988, the NFTA began an aggressive repainting program for all of the RTS and 700-series Orion I buses. The 5000-series were included in this program which enabled them to be matched with the current (at that time) livery and this also eliminated the black trim at the rear of the bus.

NFTA_6020.jpg
NFTA 6020251 viewsThis was part of a 110 bus order for the NFTA in 1984. The original paint, including the black trim that was standard for GM at that time can be seen here. Also note the door side mirror. The NFTA was one of a few agencies who "flipped" this mirror for easier access to adjustability. These mirrors were reverted back to their original positions after spot mirrors were installed in the early 1990s.

Empire Trailways205 viewsET934 (8934) 1989 102C3. This coach, and an A3 purchased that year had a Detroit Diesel 8V92 with an Eaton Fuller five speed stick. A similar C3 purchased in 1988 (ET8832), had the same livery, but two fewer seats as it was equipped with a mini galley in the back.

GMC_Motorcoach.jpg
GMC Motorcoach146 viewsThis has been a longtime idea of mine, basically an RTS on steroids. It would use the same windshield glass and takes some of the components from the RTS -03 and 04. This also uses a twin screw tandem axle reminicent of the Scenicruiser rather than the conventional tag axle.
